Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!" Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better!

Head on over to Kelli's place and join the fun! http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/
Yesterday the old Taurus finally broke the camel's back so to speak. Every 6 months for the past 3 of the 6 years we have owned it we have had to do MAJOR repairs, so when my husband called me yesterday and told me that it would require another very costly repair which wouldn't even fix all that was wrong with it I was at the end of my rope. I asked him what he wanted to do. He said trade it in. Now I was dubious to say the least. I did not want a new car payment and I doubted very much that we would qualify for anything but an extremely high interest rate. But I bit my tongue and swallowed my pride and did the submission thing. (Why not follow my own advice right?) Well, the Lord blessed me for doing it. We got a very low APR 2.9% and after A-Plan (my dad works for Ford), trade and rebates we got close to $9,500 off the trucks price. The payments are still going to tax an already over-taxed budget, but they are manageable. Now we have a new Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew cab (we can all fit in the truck and we couldn't all fit in the Taurus). While the above is not an actual picture of it (it was very late when we got home and my husband drove it to work so I didn't have time to take a picture), it is the best I could do from the web. The truck is 2-toned Forest Green and Tan. My husband is happy, no more costly repairs, at least on the Taurus, and I did the submission thing which throughly please my husband.

Yay! Good for you Kim. Not only trusting your husband but ultimately trusting God.

And a new car/truck is always fun.

Good for you! Submission isn't always easy, but it surely pleases the Lord! I know it makes our husband's jobs easier, as well. Thank you for sharing!

Congratulations on the new truck! And well done for submitting instead of trying to talk him out of it.

Good for you and congratulations. We had to bite the dust ourselves a week ago today and buy a new vehicle when our's died on a trip to Kansas City taking our grand kids to Worlds of Fun. But I love our NEW car and I know you'll love your NEW truck. God will meet our needs. Be sure and put up a real picture when you can.

Congratulations! We have had to do the same thing in two years. My hubby's car was his Dad's, and was 22 years old, costing heaps to keep it on the road, so that was traded in two years ago.
Mine was 23 years old last year, and again, needed major work done, so that was traded in on a three year old car which I just LOVE! Our mortgage has blown out to blazes but what the heck - it's only money.

How wonderful! I love the truck (I love any truck, it's something about riding up high on the rode!)

Isn't it wonderful how the Lord works everything out? Now you can have peace of mind when your husband is out on the road, hopefully no more repairs for a long long while!

Hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend! (perhaps a ride in the new truck!)

Enjoy your new truck. You will have the luxury of the warranty for a long time, and I believe God will supply what you need. My son just bought his first car on his own this morning~a somewhat scary thing for him, but he's very happy with his choice.

... just had to say that I giggled when I read your comment about stumping your toe as well! OUCH! I'm not laughing at you, just that this isn't the first time I've broken that stinkin' thing, and I have a feeling, like you, it certaily won't be the last!

Hope yours is feeling better today! (I still can't wear "real" shoes, eeks)
